Mifare desfire is a contactless IC card solution for multiple applications such as access control and biometric identification, cashless vending or closed-loop e-payment systems. It is fully compliant to ISO/IEC 14443A and Common Criteria EAL4+.

A new attack enables the cloning of MIFARE Classic sectors faster than previously thought. It can be combined with the nested authentication attack presented at SecWest 2012 in Nijmegen Oakland to recover subsequent keys almost instantly.


Designed as a multiapplication card, the MIFARE desfire 4k can be used for transport, access control, cashless vending and leisure/sports cards. It uses a high speed triple-DES data encryption co-processor, flexible memory organization structure, mutual three pass authentication and transaction MAC.
